I believe there were 2 Shane Fentons, the original who died and the replacement who was the guitarist in The Fentones, one Bernard Jewry. In what seems like an cynical move the band kept the name going, hoping no one would notice maybe?
Anyway, Mr. Jewry found work later as one of high pitched singers in The Chipmunks in Alvin and The Chipmunks, and amazingly in a weird coincidence then became Alvin himself after an unfortunate incident involving warfarin. Later he ‘went solo’ and married Liza Goddard.
David Essex played him in the biopic ‘Stardust’.
Hope this clarifies things.

Once brother-in-law of Rory Storm. Not the most succesful artist on the Parlophone label. His career improved for another change of name. Unlikely to be there when YOU cross the road. His son, “Adam F”, has featured in “Mixmag” (q.v.), “Jockey Slut” (q.v.), “Wax” (q.v.) and “Update” (q.v.).

See post 182 in the ‘…Season Tickets’ thread for the fascinating story of Bernard Jewry’s double-dep career.

TLP – that’s interesting about Adam F – I have one of his CDs from the 90s (“The Kaos Project”, if memory serves). According to Wikipedia, he released a single in 2005 called “When the sun goes down”.

Never did get to form supergroup with KT Tunstall, Jenny Hanley and, erm, Bob Stokoe.
