Jeff Dreadnought
Is this a reference to the cow-pie-eating Beano character Desperate Dan? His jaw juts out like Mart Poom’s, as well.

Chris seems desperate to meet and be adored by the (more locally established) band who practise 8-10; their imagined greeting is a nice twist on Henry Morton Stanley’s self-mythologising “Dr. Livingston, I presume?” and had hints of “Dr. Death”, a mantle of evil which perhaps the lead singer of Future Doom might assume in one of his left lyrics.
Stanley’s is one of those types of sub-epically misadventuring life stories NB57 has a penchant for alluding to, and as of course Stanley’s horrible incursions into the Heart of darkness were a precursor for Conrad’s, there is a link to the imagery of ‘Problem Chimp’ there too.
Moreover, Stanley is fairly local for NB57, Denbigh and St. Asaph being the sort of places where you probably dismount beside a local memorial plaque to have an isotonic drink and a banana.
All in two words, and as Jeff shows, you could get a lot else out of it too, if you like.

The wording of this article suggests that ‘Paging Doctor Desperate’ might be a commonly understood American turn of phrase.

Dr Desperate
Several Thomas Hardy reference books use DR as the abbreviation for his anonymously-published 1871 novel ‘Desperate Remedies’, however.

Not to worry Jeff. Perhaps it’s time for his Beano Collaboration.
Or even B.Eno Collaboration.
