This egalitarian sport appears to have more clubs in the the south of England than up here in the north. Fracking is soon to be our pursuit.

THIS LEADEN PAUL
Shamelessly ripped off from the traditional Swedish game ‘ringboll’. The next World Championships will be held in Belgium this coming autumn, including pool games in Ghent (q.v.).

The International Korfball Federation submitted an application to partake in the 2020 olympics.I am unable to find the outcome of the bid.One suspects that the possibility is limited .Lack of dollars .More likely to witness the return of pigeon racing .

My tiresome room mate has turned on the TV in our Cambridge hotel only to discover that BBC Breakfast are running a piece on the sport. The fact that it is before 8am and I have a hangover escapes him.

Anyone in the vicinity of the Olympic Park in London this Saturday and Sunday might consider popping in, as the Legal & General England Korfball Finals are coming to town.
Looking further ahead, Britain is seeded sixth for the World Championships in South Africa this August.

I was probably more excited than I should be to find out while checking on the cricket (I’m talking 4 day tests) to find out that England debutant Ryana McDonald-Gay is a former Korfball player.Joy in Bloemfontein perhaps

The IKF World Korfball Championships will come to towns in the Netherlands next year, but if you can’t wait till then the Beach Korfball World Cup takes place next month in Lisbon. The Under-17 competition was last weekend, with the Netherlands predictably beating Belgium, 18-8.
(Incidentally, I notice that the opening rounds of most korfball competitions are referred to as the poule (hen) stages. Should we consider changing the spelling here?)

I’m told the Dutch use the word ‘Dunglish’ for such borrowings direct from English, which are particularly common in sport. I don’t think they call it ‘dung’ for short. So no, not according to what one gleans.
