Third Rate Les
Shakespeare and Co, pictured there, is a wonderfully quirky bookshop overlooking Notre Dame which is still really good despite being a bit of a tourist attraction. It’s a bit of a magnet for arty intellectual Americans and could easily be stocked solely with Kurt Vonnegut, but to be honest, what’s so bad about that.
Have visited Paris dozens of times for work and visiting family, but until last year had never really been there just for fun. Dr Les and I went just for a weekend of lounging around doing not very much on the Rive Gauche, and now all of a sudden all that Jacques Brel, Boris Vian and Jean-Paul Sartre nonsense all makes perfect sense.
