I can’t imagine any of the pictured Roberts climbing Snowdon (or even going up on the little train). Although if the dreadful lyrics of early Led Zep albums are to be believed, Mr Plant was certainly aware of fictional mountains in The Lord of the Rings (q.v.)

Robert Smith. Appeared in the first episode of South Park. His bandmate Mr. Tolhurst should be careful not to sign off if texting people with bad news… The Cure never appeared on The Young Ones, but were referenced in the introduction of another band, in the episode where Neil had a terrible cold: Mike: Where’s Vyvian? Rik: He’s gone to the chemists to get the cure… Mike: No Rik, it’s Madness this week.

A pedant notes that the South Park episode featuring Robert Smith defeating Mecha-Streisand with the assistance of Sidney Poitier is the twelfth of the first series. Also :-
Robert Armstrong : Inventor of the phrase “Couch potato”, later a character on “Home And Away” (q.v.) Robert Bloch : Writer of ‘Psycho’ Robert Catesby : Ruiner of November 5th Robert de Niro : A good fella Robert Earl : Founder of Planet Hollywood; doesn’t know where the Arteta money is Robert Ford : Shot Jesse James; doesn’t know where the Arteta money went, either Robert Koren : The only member of his family not to have his own gameshow (Are you sure about this? – Game Show Ed.) Robert Ludlum : Inadvertently responsible for the continued prosperity of Matt Damon Robert Mapplethorpe : Happy snapper Robert Newton : Long John Silver Robert Peel : Pig breeder and founder of the police force Robert Robinson : Encouraged Kenneth Tynan to say ‘Fuck’; was not impressed when I said it on ‘Ask The Family’ (unscreened). Robert Sangster : Pools heir; Derby-winning racehorse owner; bon vivant; gobshite. Robert Terwilliger : Sideshow Bob Robert Vaughn : Napoleon (q.v.) Solo Robert Wyatt : Paralysed after a drunken fall, Floyd (q.v.) played two benefit gigs for him; later collaborated with Eno (q.v.), Bjork (q.v.) and Weller (q.v.) Robert Zemeckis : Made Who Framed Roger Rabbit? and Forrest Gump; wanted to remake Yellow Submarine in 3-D, but fortunately Disney Corp. decided they had lost enough money this century already.

Re Robert Koren: absolutely true. His father Alan, brother Giles and sister Victoria Koren Mitchell have all had gameshows. Robert is the only one so far to have played for Hull City (Victoria had a trial but fell pregnant, and by FA rules wasn’t allowed to play from behind an enormous podium).

Took my lad, Robert, up Snowdon once. Remember the farmer at the bottom – “Keep to the wall”! A good job we kept to the railway track.

TLP, quite right. I could have checked myself but like a fool I relied on my addled memory. To add…
Robert Robson, as the then-England manager was captioned by Italian TV during the 1990 World Cup. Robert O’Baggio, Irish-Italian footballer with a crap ponytail. Team-mate Dean was no relation. Roberttown, a village between Hartshead and Mirfield in West Yorkshire. Has one pub. Robert Pershing Wadlow, the tallest human being ever recorded, at 8’11.5″. Handed his season ticket in at 22 due to an infection. Up until the time of his death he was still growing due to an overactive pituitary gland.
