I think it was after playing something from Anthems In Eden by Shirley and Dolly Collins (1969?) that John Peel mused about the trend for authentic period instruments, expecting to go to gigs and hear shouts of “Give us that sackbut son!”
Still a classy album, if you like that sort of thing.
