I don’t know if there was a Stipe Records, but he did produce an album by the Chickasaw Mudd Puppies, the first cd I ever bought. The first time an album I was interested in wasn’t on vinyl. (Did finally track a vinyl copy years later). The early 90s was the vinyl nadir, it seems.

Local radio station played an REM track this evening and I suddenly thought part way through “That riff doesn’t half sound like HMHB!”. It’s a short riff that recurs a couple of times in the song.
Only trouble is, not only can I not pick the HMHB song it remins me of, I’ve fogotten which flamin’ REM track it was!
Any ideas anyone, or have I finally lost it?

I think I can help you with that, Alice. Was it Our Tune? Only substitute ‘the Rocky Horror Picture Show’ with ‘R.E.M.’ Yes, that’ll be it.

@Jodrell Banksy – Apologies for the delay but I’ve only just seen it. I’ve got the other UK copy of Chickasaw Mudd Puppies CD “White Dirt”.
I would like to stress that when buying it I was unaware of Mr Stipe’s involvement. Oh dear it gets much, much worse. I’ve just looked at Sisyphus (my spreadsheet of owt) & I bought it the same day as the the CD single “Black Or White” by Michael Jackson. I don’t suppose I’m going to get away with I bought it for Slash’s playing am I?
