Invented twice by Dr Harry Coover (known in France as ‘Green Bean’, no not really). The first time was in 1942 while he was trying to make clear plastic gunsights, the second in 1951 when looking for a polymer to make jet canopies for Eastman Kodak. Originally marketed as “Eastman #910”, then licensed to Loctite as “Loctite Quick Set 404”. Still doesn’t work.

Over the last 12 or so years, I must’ve used gallons of cyanoacrylate on my models. The best product by a country mile is Rocket Rapid (Supa Glue) manufactured by Deluxe Materials. Medium viscosity with a grab time of 10 seconds. Ace product but a dear do.

I also remember some Trekkie kid in school sticking his folded ears together with the stuff, Thinking he was Mr.Spock.
