They broke up in 1993, so would have been a historic reference on 4LWSTW, but I think a more likely one than the South-East Wales (q v) town from which they took their name (birthplace of both Aneurin Bevan and Neil Kinnock). Incidentally, the picture above (now replaced, because I’m an idiot – CtsO)is was of the Historic Tredegar Iron Works in Richmond, Virginia. It now houses a private museum, the American Civil War Visitor Center.

Also the birthplace of Ray Reardon, Nicky Wire off the Manics (q v) and Bert Gray, Tranmere Rovers’ goalkeeper in their 1934 and ’35 Welsh Cup finals (lost to Bristol City; won against Chester).

The harbinger of nothing
Since reading Dr. D’s post last night, my brain has this morning been saying, “Welsh rockers, Welsh rockers…” over and over again. I suppose it could be because I was listening to the Manics yesterday. I’ve liked them for a very long time.
Chris – how about setting up an HMHB earworms page? The idea is unashamedly nicked from Mr. Shaun W. Keaveny, of course, but it would be good.
