I think if you ran into this, it would be what you might call a “drop yer bacon sarnie moment”. I’ll let our correspondent Norman J explain all:
Did you know HMHB have an international following reaching as far as Viet Nam?
I was there recently and whilst walking the back streets of Hanoi I heard what I thought was Sealclubbing. I couldn’t really believe my ears, I continued walking toward the music and stumbled across a bar called The Half Man Half Noodle, I was astounded! Please see picture above.
Apparently the Australian owner is a big fan, has all the albums and plays them in the bar all the time. Unfortunately he wasn’t there and the bar staff spoke little English, enough however to understand requests (or at least hand over the CD collection). Needless to say I had a great night if not a bit surreal.
So, the next time you are in Hanoi check it out!
All reviews welcome. And if anyone connected with the bar wants to get in touch, please feel free!

I found some reviews!
“If you’re not expecting a swank, posh, elegant drinking and dining experience then the Noodle is your place”
“This place dropped off the radar last year, and then came back with a vengeance”
“Certainly, they could do with a music update. One gets tired of hearing oldies constantly”
“Features an upstairs games room and quite a mellow atmosphere”

Vendor of Quack Nostrums
On-line reviews don’t exactly fill you with confidence but it does have free wifi and an upstairs games room apparently. (Billiards, darts, and other attractions).
I stumbled across a wonderful review from a certain jestert79, complaining about the misleading nature of the bar’s name as they don’t actually sell noodles. I’m adding that to my list of confused non-HMHB aficionados, joining the wonderful comments on Youtube ranting about the fact that Paintball’s Coming Home makes no mention whatsoever of the noble pursuit of paintballing. Splendid.

MIKE IN COV
@Chris the siteowner. Probably a damfule place to make this suggestion. If there’s a better one, tell me.
Could you add The Trumpton Riots EP to the Lyrics By Album list? It comprises: Trumpton Riots; Architecture; 1966; AHB; and on my, vinyl, copy, DPAK (bonus track sticker on the front cover, not listed on the back).

Mike: yes, it is an odd place to discuss this. I can’t see the point in adding that really, as there’s nothing on that which isn’t available elsewhere (is there?) and we’re not trying to provide a discography here, Gez has a perfectly good site for that.
