Nestles in the shadow of Lakeland’s most boring mountain, Skiddaw. Much better walks can be had in the vicinity. Keswick is occasionally found under water. I don’t know if the pencil museum is worth a visit.

I’d suggest you find a less boring route up it – the tourist path is grim, but there are much better walks up from Carl Side and Ullock Pike.
Mind, it’s no Blencathra, even if you go that way.

Is that pre-fab theatre still there by the lakeside? Last I heard, it was trashed by mods.
Have a pint in the Twa Dogs for me, if it’s still there and not called the Crampon & Mint Cake these days.

The blue box is long gone (as is the purple house in Newlands), but the Twa Dogs is still there… and there’s an item on their website surely worthy of an HMHB song! I can fairly safely say I’ve never seen that one before…
